Lennar Homes is the largest home builder in the country.  Does that mean they are the best?  You decide.

A client in the Lasater Ranch subdivision had a house in which the brick wall actually flexed.  If you pressed against it, it would move back and forth.  This issue was brought to the attention of Lennar and their response was that it was not a violation of the standards the Texas Residential Construction Commission required.  They refused to repair the problem and the TRCC inspector also did not find it in violation of the standards. 

In reality, the brick wall moved back and forth because there were no brick ties.  A brick tie is a metal strap that is nailed to the studs of the house and as the bricklayer encounters one, he ties the loose end into the brick mortar where the mortar hardens and the strap helps secure the wall into the studs of the house.

In this house in the Lasater Ranch subdivision in Crowley, Texas, there were no brick ties.   Yet, in spite of that fact, Lennar chose not to repair the problem since it was not required by the TRCC.
