What If I Can't Attend the Inspections?

WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN'T GO TO THE INSPECTION?

If you can't make it to the inspection of the house, you should try to have someone attend for you like a parent, brother or sister - anybody - to be with the inspector as the inspection is performed.  Most inspectors will point out problems as they see them.  Having someone there will make those findings more significant.

If you can't be there and can't get anyone to be there for you, you should have the inspector fax, email or deliver the report and go over the report by phone.  That way, if the inspector has found problems, you can review them and ask questions.

Remember, the three major components of the house you should be highly concerned with are the HVAC (Air Conditioning/Heating system); the foundation and the roof.

You can always have major problems with other components, but these three are universally your big ticket items that can cost you thousands if not tens of thousands.  Pay special attention to these areas.
