Do I Need a New Survey?


If you are buying a new house, do you need a new survey?  What could possibly have changed?  I can see the old survey and everything looks fine. 

Well, things happen and a survey will show any kind of new easement or encroachment by a fence, a new structure or other impediment.  Most surveys for residential lots cost around $600-800. 

You can take a chance without one, but it is usually a better idea to get one.
